What will the timings be for camps?
We will start the weekend at Qalam Jumuah. We understand that this may require a student to miss the end of the school day. InshaAllah for this one weekend in the year, it’ll be beyond worth it for the kiddos to catch up InshaAllah if that is at all possible. If there are any hesitations, please do email us.
We plan on leaving the camp at 1 p.m. on Sunday, so approximate arrival back will be between 3-4 p.m. Parents will be updated in the parent chat that we will send out regarding the exact time.
Will transportation be provided?
Yes! InshaAllah we will be going on a charter bus there and back.
I am hesitant to send my child due to it being far and overnight.
Completely understandable! It’s a big commitment. Here are some aspects of our program to grant you ease:
The Camp is gated off and is secure
We have approximately 10 adult counselors, including the entire Grove Team, coming for this trip InshaAllah, all of which are trained and will be looking out for your child at all times
Parents will be able to contact counselors 24/7, as well as your kids at multiple designated times throughout the day
Boys and girls cabins were booked at a far distance from each other, ensuring complete privacy for each gender
A sleep away camp seems like a huge risk, but from The Grove Team’s experience, there is an incredible amount of benefit that comes from this experience that can’t be replicated with any other event we host
What will the process be for meals?
We will provide meals and snacks throughout the camp. We have a team preparing halal meals throughout the day that will make sure every kids gets fed and taken care of.
Allergies and accomodations will be met as needed.
My child is about to be 13. Can I register them for the camp?
We usually allow parents to sign up children if they feel like they are mature enough. However, with it being an overnight camp, we will be strictly keeping it to ages 13-18. Upon registration, there will be a question requesting documentation of your child’s age. This is to ensure the quality of the program in regards to activities, learning topics, etc.
What will kids need to bring?
InshaAllah the packing list + more will be discussed more after registration at out Parent Orientation on Saturday, September 19th at Roots from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
What will the last day be for refunds?
The last day to get a full refund will be on September 16th at 11:59 p.m. After that, we will not be able to provide any refund due to the finalization of bookings.
Who do we contact if we have questions about the camp or financial assistance?
Contact thegrove@rootsdfw.org with any questions!
