Roots / Community
Roots is looking for a Manager of Community and People to help lead the community side of Roots: the programming and experience the community lives, the team that creates it, and the program leads who report into this role. On the people and community side, this role is to the Director what the Operations Manager is on the operations side: a trusted right hand who extends his reach, holds the standard, and can stand in his place.
This is a growth role by design. We're not hiring directly into the Associate Director seat; we're looking for someone who will grow into it, learning the whole of how Roots builds community, taking on more over time, and eventually carrying the vision and the team as Associate Director of Community.
Much of this work is the mentorship and development of people and the culture we live by (tarbiyah). At Roots, the community we build for everyone else has to exist inside the team first; the internal culture is the first expression of the mission, not separate from it. You help form that culture and develop the people who carry it, our staff and volunteers alike, full-time and part-time, across Roots, Bloom, The Grove, Suhbah, and beyond, so the whole team is held with the same care the community is, whether the Director is in the room or away.
The full job description covers everything — what you'll own, skills & qualifications, our values, working rhythm, compensation, and more.
To apply, email your resume and a brief note about why this role fits you to hiring@rootsdfw.org. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis. Roots Community is an equal opportunity employer.
