Roots / Community
Roots is looking for a Video Producer / Editor to own our video pipeline end to end: the podcast and its episodes, lectures, reels, and the capture of our events. You take raw footage and finished ideas and turn them into things people watch, share, and remember.
This is a role for a finisher. You own the pipeline from capture to publish, and the measure is not how much you shot but how much made it all the way out, edited, titled, and live. This role is our steward of completion and craft (itqaan): the work is not done until the episode ships and the loop is closed.
There is a particular kind of alchemy to a Roots experience, the care that makes a room feel effortless. Video is how that alchemy travels. When Roots grows beyond Dallas, the model will move through what you capture: the podcast that reaches someone who will never visit, the reel that shows a person what belonging looks like. You are not just documenting events; you are building the thing that lets the mission scale.
This is also a lead role. You'll set the standard for our video editor, videographers, and clippers, and train the on-site livestream PAs who run our ETQ, Soul Food, and Jumuah streams, so quality holds even when you are not the one holding the camera.
The full job description covers everything — what you'll own, our values, working rhythm, compensation, and more.
To apply, email your resume, portfolio or reel, and a brief note about why this role fits you to hiring@rootsdfw.org. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis. Roots Community is an equal opportunity employer.
